Mackenzie Announces Agricultural Innovation Grant Benefiting 131st District Farm

February 7, 2025

HARRISBURG – Rep. Milou Mackenzie (R-Lehigh/Montgomery/Northampton) is pleased to announce The Seed Farm in Emmaus has been awarded $14,000 through Pennsylvania’s Agricultural Innovation Grant Program. This funding will support the purchase of a rinse conveyor system, enhancing the farm’s operations and sustainability efforts.

“I have been so happy to have visited The Seed Farm in the past and have been so impressed by the work that is being done there and the opportunities it affords to aspiring farmers,” said Mackenzie.

The Seed Farm is an agricultural education and entrepreneurship program that provides new farmers with the resources and training needed to establish successful farm businesses. Originally developed by Lehigh County and Penn State Cooperative Extension with support from a USDA grant, the program continues to play a vital role in strengthening Pennsylvania’s agricultural industry.

The Agricultural Innovation Grant Program, the first of its kind in the nation, helps Pennsylvania farms and agribusinesses adopt cutting-edge technologies and clean energy solutions. These advancements promote conservation, protect soil and water resources, and increase the use of renewable energy.
