February 25, 2025

HARRISBURG – Rep. Milou Mackenzie (R-Lehigh/Montgomery/Northampton) announced today that two municipalities in Montgomery County will receive state funding through the Multimodal Transportation Fund to support roadway and pedestrian safety improvements.

Pennsburg Borough has been awarded $168,876 for pedestrian and roadway safety enhancements along 11th Street, a project that will benefit residents and travelers in Pennsburg Borough, Red Hill Borough, and Upper Hanover Township. Additionally, Green Lane Borough will receive $200,000 to support Phase 2 pavement restoration along several roadways in the borough.

“These grants represent an important investment in the safety and infrastructure of our local communities,” Mackenzie said. “Ensuring our roads and pedestrian pathways are maintained and improved not only enhances travel but also supports local economic growth and quality of life. I am very happy that Pennsburg and Green Lane can move forward with these very important projects!”

The Multimodal Transportation Fund provides grants to encourage economic development and ensure that a safe and reliable system of transportation is available to the residents of the Commonwealth.

Funds may be used for the development, rehabilitation, and enhancement of transportation assets to existing communities, streetscape, lighting, sidewalk enhancement, pedestrian safety, connectivity of transportation assets, and transit-oriented development.
